Neglected Pit Bull Left To Die Into Birdcage, Dumped Outside Animal Shelter
Helping abused and neglected animals require a special kind of person, and thank ‘Dog’ for the folks at Saving Sage Animal Rescue Foundation in southern Florida, writes ilovemydogsomuch
When workers at the foundation heard about an abandoned, sick Pit Bull, they never hesitated to help.
The dog was found in a bird cage, where apparently someone stuffed her into it and dumped her in front of the Oakland Park Animal Rescue. The sweet dog was covered in sores and had a bloodied tail.
Rescuers got her out of the cage, where they realized the dog was emaciated, covered in mange, and needed immediate help. Sadly, she had been bred multiple times and then tossed away like trash.
Despite all she went through, she still manages to have the sweetest personality.
They named her Birdie and got to work on helping the dog to heal. Thanks to Dr. Friedbauer at Royal Palm Veterinary Hospital, Birdie’s multiple medical issues and allergy treatments were addressed, giving the rescue group a break on the bill.
As Birdie recovers in foster care, one lucky person will be proud to call Birdie their forever dog. Thanks for helping this sweet baby, and we wish her much love and healing.
