Paralyzed Puppy Dies After Being Dumped On Christmas Day. RIP my little baby!
It’s hard to imagine how anybody can abandon a helpless puppy. Pet-rescuers in Bradford, Yorkshire, were in for a shock when a 5-week-old puppy was dumped and left to die in an alleyway by his cruel owners, that too on Christmas Day, writes ilovemydogsomuch
The merle-furred pup was found frightened and in pain, in a cardboard box, by a local resident, who took him home. The man soon had to call for help as the cross-breed pup seemed to be terribly sick and was unable to use his back legs.
The vets verified that the pup’s rear body had completely collapsed and he was dragging his back legs. After a thorough assessment, the vets concluded that the pup was in intense pain and was unlikely to recover. With heavy hearts, they put him to sleep to end his suffering, while giving him lots of love and care in his final moments.
The officers at RSPCA were enraged at this disgraceful act by the owners of the puppy. They have decided to launch an in-depth investigation and bring justice to the pup for being cast off in the cold in such a state.
Inspector Dave Holgate suspects that the pup was either abandoned by the breeder due to his inability to get sold, or the owners didn’t want a high veterinary bill. Either way, these petty reasons do not justify the sheer cruelty of leaving a sick dog to die in the cold.
Inspector Dave is seriously concerned about the pup’s mother and has appealed to people to call on 0300 123 8018 if they have any details. As for the little one who didn’t get to live a long and fulfilling life, we pray for his soul and hope that he is in a better place now.
