Right in the middle of the field, we see a lonely black and white dog trapped in a tiny wire cage elevated from the ground.

While it’s obvious that this young dog is being exploited as a guard dog to ward off unwanted birds and animals, the blatant apathy toward his everyday suffering is very disturbing. This poor baby is tied in the blistering sun for hours daily, without any food or water. He is cooped up like poultry in that filthy cage with zero welfare.

The saddest fact is that several local dogs are forced to act as field guard dogs in the exact same manner. This wretched ritual is so normalized that farmers see nothing wrong with the pain they cause these powerless dogs. For them, dogs are not companions to be loved but mere utility animals to provide “cheap security” and optimize crop production.

Thankfully, the sweet dog was rescued and whisked away from this cruelty situation. It’s no surprise that he was found to be suffering from anemia and ticks. While this dog may be safe, there are many like him who are left to rot away in fields ev
