Abandoned Dog Found Crying On Road With Her Face Pierced In Porcupine Quills

Bri Burnett of Sweetwater, Texas, was alerted about a poor, frightened Labrador mix crying on a lonely dirt road. When Bri arrived at the spot, she was shocked to see the dog’s face swollen after being needled with countless porcupine quills.

Bri named the dog JoJo and somehow moved her into the car. JoJo was timid and scared, so the vet sedated her before removing the painful quills. After an arduous 45 minutes, the quills were removed. Bri paid for the heavy vet bill herself, and took the scarred JoJo home.

For the next few days, Bri tried to locate JoJo’s owners. But her microchip number turned out to be unserviceable, so it became a dead end. Meanwhile, JoJo has been recovering quite well. Bri has now reached out to the people to help her find this sweet girl a forever home where she is never abused or abandoned again. Spread the word.

Update: Jojo has been adopted! When a woman named Haylee Stewart first encountered JoJo’s story on social media, she was instantly taken by JoJo’s kind and gentle demeanor. When she learned about her painful past, she just knew that they belonged together. Haylee adopted Jojo, and today JoJo lives like a princess with Haylee. We love this happy ending for Jojo!
