The three-year-old dog’s nose is slanted to the right and his mouth his pushed upwards on the left side, so he was named Picasso. Apparently, he bears a resemblance to the artist’s works of art.

These days, Picasso shares his life with Liesl Wilhardt, the woman responsible for Luvable Dog Rescue in Eugene, Oregon. Wilhardt admits people feel sorry for Picasso when they first meet him, but she calls the dog “perfectly imperfect.” People often think he got hurt but the truth is, he was born with the deformity.

Sadly, Picasso’s brother, Pablo, passed away from a brain aneurysm, though he was not affected with wry mouth.

Picasso shares his home with Wilhardt and eight other rescue dogs, a rescue pig, and two cats. He is not in pain, does not require surgery for the deformity, and can do everything a dog without wry mouth can do.

“I fell in love with his face right away. We are the best of friends,” Wilhardt said.
