Owner Loses Control Of His Horse And It Kicks A Man, So Owner Poisons The Horse
In a frighteningly bizarre act of animal cruelty, a man is being accused of brutally assaulting and poisoning his horse to death, writes ilovemydogsomuch
The incident happened in Kanpur, India, where a dairy farm owner named Satish Pal allegedly tortured and killed his horse as “punishment” for fatally injuring an elderly man.
As per details released by Babupurwa police station, Satish was traveling with his horse in his neighborhood when he abruptly lost control of the animal. In a panicked frenzy, the horse got loose and ended up inadvertently kicking Lakshmi Narain Verma, a 65-year-old resident who was casually resting in his front yard. A wounded Lakshmi was rushed to the hospital in a critical state but he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
The moment Satish learned about Lakshmi’s death, he went into a violent fit of rage and began thrashing his horse. After beating the helpless, crying creature black and blue with a stick, Satish administered a poisonous injection to the horse that caused his instant but agonizing death.
Despite the tragic origin of the case, the barbaric and hateful killing of an instinctive animal doesn’t make any sense at all. Satish is now facing severe animal cruelty charges for abusing and killing his domestic horse. Based on a complaint lodged by Lakshmi’s bereaved family, he is also facing other relevant criminal charges under the Indian Penal Code. An arrest is yet to be made as the cops are still awaiting the necropsy reports for both Lakshmi and the deceased horse.
