Cowards Cut Puppy’s Throat Open & Left Her In Garbage Container To Die
A tiny puppy, later named Gordy, was found in a garbage container with her throat cut open, writes ilovemydogsomuch
She was rushed to a vet, where her wound was carefully stitched closed.
But after her neck wound healed, she was still having a lot of issues. She was unable to swallow due to her oesophagus being blocked.
Food only reached her stomach in small amounts, and she was receiving hardly enough food to survive. Because of this, she was also at high risk of aspiration-induced pneumonia.
She was diagnosed with a cardiac condition known as ‘persistent aortic arch,’ which strangled the oesophagus at the bottom of her heart and is causing her to have megaesophagus.
This means her esophagus lacks the muscular tone and motility needed to move food and water, so the food backs up.
In order to fix this, Gordy underwent several operations, which were all thankfully successful. She can now eat and drink like a normal dog!
Gordy went on to live with a loving family, and instantly became best friends with her new doggy sibling.
She has come a long way from the pint-sized pup who was found in the garbage. She has grown into a beautiful dog.
