Dogs deserve to be in a loving home, writes ilovemydogsomuch

Sadly, however, there are callous individuals who adopt puppies and then decide they no longer want them. This poor dog was loaded into his owner’s truck and then dumped at a nearby construction site. He was left without food and water. His owner didn’t care whether he lived or died.

A rescue group received a call when the dog was spotted, panting in the heat. He just laid in the dirt as if he had given up on everything. The poor boy looked hopeless. He desperately needed a good meal and a roof over his head. The rescuers were determined to do all they could to save his life.

The dog was very smart and knew he was being saved. He went along with his new human friends but then something changed once he was at their shelter. He became very aggressive and no one wanted to go near him. They feared he would lash out.

One volunteer understood that his aggression was solely based on fear. She worked with him every single day to show him that he was now safe and everything would be okay. It took a while for him to trust her. She worried if he’d ever be able to go to a forever home. It was a long process but soon, with constant reassurance from his new human best friend, the dog accepted the other volunteers as well.

A family came into the shelter a week later and asked all about the handsome dog. The rescuers explained where he was found and a bit about his behavior. The family was willing to take a chance on him. But they had nothing at all to fear! As soon as they opened his kennel door, he showed the family nothing but kindness.

It was a sign that he was meant to be with this family the entire time! They made the adoption official and now the pup is living his best life in a loving home. We couldn’t be happier!
