Emaciated Dog Found Roaming Streets With Her Intestines Hanging Out
An epidemic of animal abuse cases in Jacksonville, Florida, is happening with yet one more horrific case being reported. An abandoned dog was found roaming the streets and in need of urgent care, writes ilovemydogsomuch
Doctors at Bluestar Pet Hospital got to work on the dog, who was in severe shape due to emaciation and heartworms. Hope’s intestines were hanging out of a hole that started as a hernia. She had a tumor and also was the victim of a surgery gone wrong.
“I suspect Hope was probably kept for backyard breeding for a long time and she had some C-section in the past which was probably not done properly,” said veterinarian Amar Mechineni.
Mechineni wants people to come together to stop animal abuse.
Hope made it through surgery and is being placed with a foster family until she can be adopted out to a forever loving home.
