Deserted Dog Rotting Away For 9 Years Sees A Glimmer Of Hope In Her Final Days

With no one to turn to, she found refuge under a junkyard’s shipping container that provided her the bare minimum protection from the heat and rain. For 9 lonely years, she survived by eating scraps and crumbs thrown at her by the locals. But time caught up to her eventually.
By the time Pheenie was a senior dog, her health was miserable due to the prolonged stress and neglect. She had lost her right eye after being hit by a truck, and was also dealing with a spinal cord infection, worsening dental disease, urinary tract infection, and multiple painful mammary tumors.
This heartbreaking video follows the efforts of Hope For Paws workers who rescue Pheenie from her bleak forsaken existence. It was a strenuous operation but Pheenie gradually realized that someone had finally come to save her in her twilight years. The look of defeated resignation on her face was unmistakable as she embraced her saviors with a sense of relief.
Pheenie was placed under a forever foster program to cater to her mounting medical needs. For 5 glorious months, she lived a happy, pampered and carefree life in the spacious farm in her foster home, before succumbing to old age. Despite living a cursed life of deprivation and isolation, Pheenie’s final days were filled with abundant love. RIP Pheenie.
