Autistic Boy’s Service Dog Stolen From Yard, Police Ask Public To Help Find Her

The officers at the Dearborn Heights Police Department are seeking public help in locating the whereabouts of a stolen service dog, writes ilovemydogsomuch

As explained by the owners, “Love” the Border Collie-Retriever mix was taken away from the yard of her home in Michigan’s Roosevelt and Powers area. Love has been specifically trained to support her family’s autistic child.

Love was last spotted in her yard at around 4:30 PM. She was wearing a gray and pink sweater (as seen in the picture above), and had a pink collar on. Her collar has an identity tag with complete contact details of her owners.

So far, there have been no leads or clues to aid in the cops’ search for Love. Meanwhile, the family’s autistic son is having a hard time coping with the absence of his beloved service dog, who is a major part of his support system. The heartbroken family has been constantly worried about Love’s safety, and is now begging the community to help them find their precious pooch.

Anyone with any information on Love is requested to report the same to the police at 313-277-6770 (extension number 3 and case reference number 20-17334). We hope this good girl is safe wherever she is, and returned to her anxious family soon. Let’s get the word out for her and help her reunite with her humans.
