Stray Dog Got His Head Stuck In A Tire Rim, And His Head Swelled As Days Passed
A stray dog was found by a rodeo with his head stuck in a tire rim. His poor head was terribly swollen, writes ilovemydogsomuch
No one was certain where he came from or how he ended up in this predicament, but they assume he was chasing a squirrel when he became trapped. Rescuers estimate that the dog was stuck like this for days and it was only a matter of time before he succumbed to his injuries.
Volunteers from Three Little Pitties Rescue arrived on the scene to see what they could do. They sedated the dog to be able to more easily move him. They took the poor pup, the named Pickle, to the hospital and began treatment, but nothing was working. He wouldn’t make it much longer like this.
After failing to remove the rim, they had no choice but to call the fire department who brought in the jaws of life. It took an hour of cutting, but they finally freed Pickle from the wheel! The boy later woke up a bit disoriented but thankful to be alive and on the mend.
After a few days of monitoring and rest, Kelly took him home as a foster. The good boy really opened up there with all of the other dogs! She even took him to the pet store so he could pick out his first toy. Pickle is learning how to be a normal dog and is getting ready for the day someone invites him into their home forever!
