DoorDash Food Delivery Carrier Drops Off Woman’s Meal & Steals Her New Pup

Ashley Swinton decided to order takeout food and have it delivered to her home in Warren, Michigan using the DoorDash delivery service. The driver entered the front area of Swinton’s home, where she was supposed to simply leave the bag of food. She did that, but then did something so shocking that authorities were stunned. Luckily, a home surveillance camera recorded the entire incident.

The delivery person put the bag of food down, saw Swinton’s 8-week-old puppy nearby, and began to rub the dog to see if he was vicious. The 8-week-old puppy had no clue what was happening, but the driver decided to pick the little pooch up and then run away with him. It all took place on New Year’s Day, and Swinton was devastated after learning her furbaby was stolen. The dog mom immediately called the police.

“We haven’t seen anything like this before. A ⁦DoorDash⁩ driver makes a delivery and takes off with an 8-week-old puppy that was a Christmas gift for kids.” Warren Police Detective told a news reporter.

Thanks to fast-acting police work, the pup was soon recovered. Police officers located the 26-year-old thief, whose name has not been released as of this writing. She admitted to stealing the pup, who was in good health and returned to his grateful owner. Swinton and her family are very grateful to the Warren police officers for their hard work.
