Dancers Help 6-Month-Old Mistreated Lab With Broken Legs Avoid Euthanasia

George arrived at the Del Rio Animal Control Facility in Texas with broken paws. The sweet 6-month-old Labrador Retriever had reached the limit on how long dogs are kept alive at the shelter. Just as he was going to be scheduled for euthanasia, a group of dancers stepped up, writes ilovemydogsomuch

The rescue group was formed in 2020 with the purpose of bringing attention to animal welfare and to save lives. Thanks to Dancers for Dogs, George’s life would be spared.

“George is too traumatized to come out from his little apartment,” they posted to Facebook. “He is afraid of us, he has lost hope. He has given up. He is in pain.”

An assessment revealed the puppy’s legs were broken but never healed correctly and surgery would not help. He receives care, food, and medications.

He is making progress and taking baby steps towards recovery. Though his road to a full turnaround is long, George has a great team that loves him and believes in him.
