The dog, who had been deprived of love for who knows how long, decided to show her appreciation for Annie’s kindness by saying ‘thank you’ with kisses. This left Annie speechless and her eyes welled up. What a feeling it must have been!

Annie picked her up and took her to their car. On the way to the vet, they decided to name her Layla. Her big, trusting eyes makes one wonder why she was left to fend for herself on the streets.

Back at the vet, the extent of Layla’s injuries came to light. She had suffered severe intestinal damage and was put into critical care. She ended up being hospitalized for two weeks.

Although her weak body struggled to recover, Layla’s new foster parents visited Layla in the hospital daily, giving her much needed love and support. With all the love and care she got, Layla slowly began to improve.

Once she was deemed fit to be released, her foster parents took her home. But she still needed care and still had some recovery to do. With constant care and love from her foster parents, she managed a full recovery.
