Bony Pit Bull Tossed In Dumpster In Dead Of Night Still Had A Twinkle In His Eye

Wichita Animal Action League thankfully has eyes and ears all over the city, writes ilovemydogsomuch

When one of their adopters was taking out her trash, she heard something inside the dumpsters. When she looked inside, her whole body trembled.

Sitting at the bottom of the dumpster was a Pit Bull locked inside his crate. The dog, later named Bowie, was merely skin and bones. He looked absolutely defeated like he had given up a long time ago. Bowie’s owner didn’t care what happened to the poor pup but Bowie’s luck was about to change.

The pup now had people that would make sure he was okay. The woman who found him called the rescue group and Bowie was taken to a nearby vet clinic. The vet was appalled by his condition and had no choice but to admit him. He needed 24-hour care for the next week.

Bowie was so brave! He warmed up to everyone around him. He was cautious but loving in his own way. After a week at the clinic, he went to live with his medical foster mom and dad. They are experienced in dealing with dogs like Bowie and took excellent care of him.

Bowie, most importantly, had to put on weight. They used slow feeders so he wouldn’t eat too fast. They also dressed him in pajamas to keep him nice and warm. Due to the lack of body fat, Bowie tended to get cold easily and shake. Poor baby!

Two months later, Bowie was ready to go to his new foster home. He looked so much healthier. He was so excited to meet his new foster mom and dad, Connie and Matt. Connie even made him a welcome home sign!

Bowie was a bit of a cry baby at first, and that of course was understandable. He was in a strange place with strange people. But with persistence and love, Bowie began to bond with Connie and Matt. Connie was pretty much head over heels for Bowie (and Bowie felt the same way!)

Two days later, Connie sent her husband Matt a text while he was at work. The text would change the course of Bowie’s life forever. What comes next is absolutely amazing! You can’t miss it!
