Rare disease left him alone & unloved, makes him look like the saddest creature ever

For couple Georgina Price and Christopher Lardner, life hit them hard when their first rescue cat, 16-year-old Herbie, passed away too soon. To honor Herbie’s memory, they decided to adopt and give a fighting chance to an unwanted special needs cat, writes ilovemydogsomuch

That’s how they stumbled upon Toby and Quinton, 2 unfortunate shelter cats. Quinton, a 7-year-old black and white cat, had all his teeth missing, while Toby, a 6-year-old short-haired feline, had a lot of loose skin due to a rare congenital condition called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) or feline cutaneous asthenia (FCA).

EDS makes the skin fragile due to the lack of collagen, and leaves it prone to easy bruising and infections. Georgina and Christopher learned that Toby and Quinton lived as a bonded pair, so they instantly decided to adopt both of them and help them live better lives.

When Georgina and Christopher visited this pair, they were heartbroken to see a hurting Toby hiding behind Quinton every time someone approached to pet him. They immediately took the cats to their new home, hoping to care for them in the best possible way.

With time, the couple has learned to tend to the special needs of their adorable felines. Poor Toby gets wounded all the time because of EDS, but with love and care from his new parents and brother Quinton, his condition is much more manageable today! We thank this kind couple for helping Toby and Quinton lead fulfilled lives!
