Sadistic Owner Tosses 14-Year-Old Sickly Dog Into Dump Site On Cold Night

On the coldest night of the year in Fort Bend County, Texas, a horrific person decided they no longer wanted to care for their 14-year-old dog, writes ilovemydogsomuch

As a senior, sweet Bailey served his owners well and provided them with love and companionship. The same cannot be said for Bailey’s owners, as they decided to dump his frail, sick body like a piece of trash. Thankfully, Bailey was found and the folks at Jamie’s Animal Rescue took him in.

The rescue group posted an update along with the dog’s photos, whom they renamed Bernard. “You conveniently didn’t have to drive very far to find a good dumping site for his frail, freezing, sick body. It only took you 6 minutes to pick out a spot, that way you could get back to being inside in the warmth,” the group stated. “He has chronic kidney failure, so he has been sick for a long time. His kidney values are off the charts. His body temp is 97 degrees (normal temp should be 100-102). He is so dehydrated that his face and body are sunken in. He can’t move, his whole body is stiff.”

Bernard’s prognosis was terrible, as he been neglected and abused for a very long time. Sadly, despite all the best efforts of the rescue group and veterinarians, Bernard’s body gave up. He died of kidney failure, which the rescue group said is a slow and painful way for the body to decline. Poor Bernard became comatose and had he not been found, he would have died all alone in the woods.

Thanks to everyone who tried to save this sweetheart’s life. I Love My Dog reminds our readers to get in touch with local animal control or a local rescue if you can no longer care for your pets. It is never a viable option to abandon or dump an innocent animal, as the outcome will likely be harm, abuse, death, or all three.
