Jogger Pursued By Mama Cougar For Six Harr.owing Minutes
It was expected to be a relaxing jog in nature. However while out on a mid-day run in Slate Canyon, Utah, Kyle Citizen had an experience with a cougar he’ll never forget.
He was out on Saturday October 10, 2020 around 5pm and simply 2 miles from the trailhead when he saw four cougar cubs on the route. Promptly after, he detected their mother as she rounded the edge. That is when the trouble started.
With his camera’s document switch on, Burgess filmed the following six painful mins as the cougar pursued him as he gradually supported and also headed down the route. In the video, the mom feline approaches Citizen as well as several times costs at him with her teeth and claws extended. Each time Citizen handles to preserve his cool as well as chews out the cat to vanish. The cougar continues to track him, vanishing at one point just to pop out of the bushes closer than in the past.
“This is terrifying,” he states at one point, “I don’t feel like dying today.”
Ultimately, after what appears like an endless time, Citizen has the ability to get a rock and frighten the cougar off as well as she runs back to her cubs.
” When she lunged in the video clip is when I either took my eyes off of her or I mosted likely to seek a rock,” Burgess later told KSL. “I didn’t feel like I was going to lose my life. I most definitely assumed I was going to get hurt.”
According to the wild animals experts, he did every little thing right. He stayed big, remained loud, didn’t shed eye contact and didn’t pick up the rock prematurely.
