Because of this, when Nicole was 14-years-old, her father dumped her beloved dog, Chloe, off at the Washington Area Humane Society. It was heart-breaking for both Nicole and Chloe.

8 years later, Nicole was scrolling through her Facebook, when she noticed some feed about a senior dog who was up for adoption. The dog was a Pomeranian-Poodle mix and was named Chloe. In addition, she was 11-years-old, the same age that Nicole’s Chloe would’ve been at the time.

Unable to shake a certain feeling that this could be the dog she was forced to give up at 14, Nicole went to go meet the dog. When they met, Chloe licked Nicole’s face just like she used to back in the day, and Nicole was convinced she was her Chloe.

Despite this, her family was skeptical, so they took Chloe to the vet to have her scanned for a microchip – and it turned out to indeed be the Chloe who was surrendered to the shelter 8 years earlier.

Today, Nicole is married and has a 4-month-old daughter of her own. She is grateful for the second chance with Chloe – especially since the grandmother who gifted her the special pet passed away 3 years prior. Nicole is now making up for time lost with Chloe, and can’t wait for her own daughter to get to be best friends with her childhood dog.
