Sad bear kept in tiny rusty cage for years, finally gets the change of a new life

It’s constantly heart-breaking to see wild animals kept in tiny cages, away from the wilderness where they intended to roam free. It is additionally the case of Rocco, a 8-year-old bear that invested his whole life in a tiny rustic cage, in Elbasam, Albania.

Now, thanks to the efforts of 4 PAWS International, the bear obtained the chance to smile once again.

Rocco was gotten by his owner when he was just a number of weeks old cub. Since then, the poor pet lived in a 12-square-meter metal cage and also his feet never really felt ground below because the floor was constructed of concrete. Obviously, there was absolutely nothing to secure him from rainfall, wind or snow.

His situation was so depressing that the bear even attempted to attack on the metal bars of his cage, to establish him free. Fortunately, two weeks ago, Rocco’s miserable life concerned an end, as the volunteers at FOUR PAWS International saved him.

After a long 40-hour journey, Rocco was taken at BEAR REFUGE Müritz in Germany, where he gets the opportunity of a normal, delighted life.

“We more than happy that we ultimately obtained Rocco to his new home. Our group at the sanctuary is specialised for the treatment he needs now. After years of suffering in bad problems, Rocco will certainly come to rest, have area to walk around as well as live a bear-friendly life.
